General Information

Buckeye BFR-SC-100 shielded cable is stainless steel cable in a flexible sheath for the mechanical functions of the Buckeye Kitchen Mister kitchen fire suppression system. The cable connects the detection line, the mechanical gas valve or the manual pull station to the release unit, while the sheath guides and protects the cable along the run.

The cable run must stay within the manual's limits for length and number of bends. Installation and function testing are carried out by an authorised Buckeye installer in accordance with the BFR-TM technical manual, checking that the cable moves freely and the sheath is correctly anchored.

Cable, sheath and connections are checked at the service, at least every six months.

The powder leaves residue that can damage electronics and must be cleaned thoroughly after use. For gas fires: shut off the gas supply if it can be done safely. Details for each individual unit are given on the label and in the user instructions.

The hose is checked along its full length at the annual inspection to EN 671-3 and replaced in case of cracks, kinks, leakage or ageing. After a hose change the reel is pressure tested before being put back into service.
